Handbuilt terracotta lamp, decorated in white slip and sgraffito, designed for Speak, Memory, a special exhibition at Casa Cabana for Milan Salone del Mobile, 2025.

The surface decoration is inspired by a memory of Chinese Imari porcelain, glazed in sooty blues, lavender greys and faded orange, with motifs in relief moulded from antique cookie and chocolate moulds; depicting a tiger, a bird, a lotus flower, a beaver and a butterfly, all of which have deep-rooted symbolic meaning evocative of good fortune and longevity in Chinese culture.

The wicker pagoda lampshade was designed and handmade especially for 1690 by Atelier Vime in Vallabrègues, Provence.

These lamps are wired with antiqued brass fittings, Italian twist cable in a sort of oaty colour and vintage style bakelite plugs. They can be wired for the UK, the US and Europe. Please specify your preference by email after ordering.
