1690 Candili Chandelier
1690 Candili Chandelier
Handbuilt terracotta chandelier, decorated in joggled or marbled slipware, a technique widely used in England’s Staffordshire potteries in the early to mid-18th century. Each ceramic component is coated with liquid white clay, then trailed with contrasting terracotta. Once shaken, the colours merge to create abstract patterns which are entirely unique from one piece to the next. Five antiqued brass arms fall from the central column, with cups for five candles which gently illuminate cymbals, skittles and pear-like forms.

The metal components of the chandelier are antiqued brass and include a chain, S hooks and eye screw for suspension.
Dimensions: Approximately 27cm height, 27cm at widest point of suspended baubles
Additional Notes: To clean, wash gently in warm soapy water by hand.
