A handbuilt terracotta urn for ashes or keepsakes, decorated with white slip and sgraffito: a lidded form inspired by Ottoman pharmacy jars of the 17th century.

These works are highly individual and involve a thoughtful process with each client in order to realise something gentle, meaningful and lasting. The urn featured here was commissioned by a daughter for her mother’s ashes and illustrates her enduring love of whippets and hounds, walking in dappled shade, the cycle of spring and pockets full of pine cones. The words read, ‘Wander thou still, Mamma dear.’
