Handbuilt terracotta ashet, or large serving dish, decorated in white slip and sgraffito, with applied detail in relief. Frogs, pea pods and fallen acorn seeds hide amongst pears and caterpillars in a tangle of courgette foliage and tendrils, glazed in muddy yellows and light-on-leaf greens. Ribbons, inspired by Volckamer’s 18th century Nurnbergische Hesperides prints, drape the flora and fauna gaily in a sort of blue-verdigris.
